Police: Movie Theater Needs Bigger Sign Banning Weapons

By | August 1, 2012

It’s to be expected that tensions are heightened at movie theaters around the country following the recent mass murder at a theater in Aurora, Colorado.  It’s no surprise then that police were called  by theater employees in Cookeville, TN,  when a patron was seen with a holstered gun.  When police arrived, they made an annoucement asking fro the man with the gun to come forward. Three did.  The police explained the theater’s no weapons policy and allowed the gun owners, who were all properly licensed, to leave their weapons in their vehicles.

Police also instructed the movie theater to place a more prominent, larger sign prohibiting weapons.
