Hoarding Rewarded- 33 Year Old Worthless The Who Tickets Suddenly Good For Admission To 2012 Concert

By | August 1, 2012

In 1979, after a stampeded at an Ohio concert by The Who killed 11 people, Providence, Rhode Island Mayor Buddy Cianci cancelled the upcoming The Who concert.  Most fans, while disappointed, got their refunds.  But a few lazy fans didn’t

bother and kept the worthless piece of paper for 33 years.

Now some of them have given up their old tickets after organizers announced they would allow the tickets to be exchanged for an upcoming concert in Providence, their first since the one that was canceled so many years ago. We’re sure there’s another group, somewhere holding on to their tickets for the next time The Who come around. As for us, we’re still holding our 2011 Red Sox playoff tickets- just in case.
